ENDAU ROMPIN STATE PARK
(Note: We do not organize tours to the Endau Rompin Park)

The Endau Rompin State Park covers an area of about 80,000 hectares (about 200,000 acres or 800 sq km or 310 sq miles). It is home to many species of birds, mamals, frogs and insects, as well as herbs, flowers and trees. Only a portion of this park is open to the public. Another portion is open to researchers. The bulk of this area is out of bounds, so as to protect the pristine environment.

This park has been in existence for more than 130 million years.

Among the animals that can be found in the Endau-Rompin State Park are monkeys, gibbons, macaques, elephants, deers, tapirs, tigers and leopards.

The park is home to a variety of plants and trees that can hardly be found elsewhere. It is said that every time a scientific expedition goes to the Park, they discover some new species of plants or animals.

Apart from trekking and watching the flora and fauna, there are many activities that can be undertaken at this park. Among them are fishing, canoeing, shooting rapids, exploring caves, climbing mountains, watching birds and swimming. If you like waterfalls, there are plenty within the park.

There are no hotels in this park. Everyone stays in camps or the dorms that are provided.

One way to get to this park is by road. But you can also stay at the Endau Beach Resort and then take a 3-hour boat trip along the Endau river to get to the Park.

Entry to the park requires a special permit from the Johor National Park Corporation. For more information, please contact: National Parks (Johor) Corporation. JKR 475, Bukit Timbalan, Johor, Malaysia. Phone : +607 223 7471. Fax : +607 223 1033
